Gina Ryder
It's just amazing the number of people who get into the adult entertainment business by accident and then discover how much they like it. Take Gina Ryder, for instance. She was working 60 and 70 hours a week as a retail manager in a music store, burned out, bored, underpaid. She needed to find something else. Several people told her to try dancing. Out of desperation she went to a club on a Saturday afternoon, tried it, liked it and decided to stick with it. For a year and half she danced and watched the feature dancers who would come through the club and realized that Jenna Jameson good looks and Susan Sarandon talent were not required to make it big in porn. One week in 1998 she flew out to L.A. and contacted some of the major studios, got an agent and started making pro-am videos. There's an old saying that "if you find work you love you'll never 'work' another day." Apparently Gina has found work she loves - her enjoyment is obvious in every one of the 247 videos she's made so far. She has cut back a little on her video projects lately, accepting only the offers she really wants but when asked about retirement she says, "No way, not any time soon, this is way too much fun." You can share the fun in Metro's "Les Vampyres 2: The Resurrection," Wicked's "Wild Thing" and Video Team's "No Man's Land" volumes 22 & 25. In addition to porn videos she appears in "R" rated features on Showtime and Cinemax, layouts in men's magazines, feature dances nationwide, signs autographs at malls and answers all her email herself.
